COD. 240 / Pedaling among the Sagrantino vineyards that are colored red

An easy proposal to discover in a weekend the charm of the vineyards that are bright red in the area between Montefalco and Bevagna. A unique show, because only the Sagrantino vineyards acquire this particular color in autumn. To this spectacle of nature is added the opportunity to visit the historic centers of two beautiful villages such as Montefalco and Bevagna and to savor the food and wine delicacies of this area of Umbria.

The itinerary is developed in the area of production of Sagrantino wine and for long stretches, in fact, you will cycle through the vineyards, which from mid-October onwards start to turn red. The first part of the route is very easy, all in plain and downhill. The second is characterized by some ups and downs on the country roads, before facing the final climb to return to Montefalco. The difficulty is not high, but given some stretches of climb to overcome we recommend a minimum of training. For those who do not feel able to tackle the route it is possible to rent the e-bikes.
