A 3-day adventure in Monte Cucco Park

Itinerary

Monte Cucco Cave Traverse:

Duration: 4–5 hours in total, with a guided visit along the entire route.
Difficulty: E — Hiking level.
Elevation gain/loss: approximately 230–250 metres.
Starting/return point: Pian di Monte, usually from April to December.
Features: Entrance is through Pozzo Miliani, at 1,390 metres above sea level, via a metal staircase. The underground route is approximately 800 metres long and winds through karst formations, stalactites and stalagmites.
Exit: The exit is on the northern side, followed by a walk back along high-altitude trails in the Park, including CAI trails 226, 228, 240 and the “Sentiero delle Croci”.

Duration: 3 hours.

Minimum group size: 5 people.
